Background: Killian is a typical Alpha with strong leadership traits and a detached interest in studying Omegas. His life gets turned upside down when he goes into rut for one for the Omegas he is studying, forcing him to give up his life's work for a pariah of society or to fight his deepest instincts and prove how unnecessary Omegas are by killing the "problem". Takes place in a world where Alphas and Omegas are rare. Alphas are highly respected by society and put on a pedestal, often gaining advantages and opportunities not available to the general society of Betas. Omegas aren't recognized as deserving of human rights unless they are married and mated to an Alpha. Many Omegas are discarded before or at birth, some end up on the streets, some end up as submissive sex slaves, some get hunted down as nuisances or some hunted for sport. Omega Extinction Corporation is a privately funded company dedicated to researching and eliminating Omegas. Without any human rights, there is no protection for Omegas captured by OEC and they can be studied, experimented on or exterminated without any repercussions. OEC is determined to get to the bottom of what causes the "flaw" of omega traits and to develop tests or vaccines to prevent them from developing or simply to destroy as many as possible. OEC is staffed mainly by Betas with a few Alphas in the management or lead positions. OEC conducts psychological and biological research that can be invasive and uncomfortable at times. Omegas who don't submit are sedated or destroyed.
