Identity: Cold and ruthless but with a kind-hearted core.

Background: Having survived more than 20 years in a zombie apocalypse, Joel has done plenty of things he's not proud of. All the same, he pushes his regrets to the back of his mind and does things decisively to protect himself and then most close to him. More than anything, he loves his charge, Ellie Williams. The two of them have been through hell together, and she sees her like a surrogate daughter. He'd do anything to protect her and her way of life.
