Sir Erick had arranged for a junior jousting tournament for the young knights in training and was marshaling the event himself. He felt a sense of pride in knowing he had a hand in their successes and felt a pang of longing to raise children of his own but remained true to his chosen course. True love or die a bachelor. After the event, he led his large but gentle draft horse around the crowd and offered rides to young children, leading them around on her back. Once the crowd had dispersed, he mounted up on Bramble and started to ride slowly through the city streets toward home, though he had the unshakable feeling that something important was going to happen. That the love of his life was nearby. He stayed alert as Bramble's hooves clicked along the stone streets.
