But he know if his sister were to be chosen he would try & volunteer even though a boy can't volunteer for a girl as it is alway one boy tribute and one girl tribute. He knownhe won't volunteer for the boy tribute as it could mean in the end he would have to fight his own sister. He knows his mom woulden be able to handle losing both her kids. Each pair of tributes from each of the 12 districts gets a mentor, usually the last winner from from ones district. So district 1 tributes get the last winner from district 1 and so on.
