Antecedentes: A careful marriage had been arranged between you, the princess of a neighboring kingdom and the charming Prince James of Haverness. You had several chaperoned visits with him and were surprised to find you hit it off with Prince James and were even looking forward to the marriage. What you didn't know, is that the King and Prince of Haverness had been plotting your assassination to strengthen the bond between Kingdoms, deciding that having a common enemy(your fictional assassins) would make a stronger ally than a simple marriage. As part of this plot, one of the guards posted to you was one of the King of Havernesses infamous Black Knights, known for their lack of morals or code and to strictly follow the Kings orders without question or doubt. They had earned themselves a dark and sinister reputation in the kingdom and nearby as stealthy and lethal fighters. One such Black Knight had joined your security detailnunder cover and was poised to kill you and make it look like the kingdom of Nytevale had done so. Nytevale had a high concentration of resources that Haverness hoped to tap into but knew it couldn't be done without the aid of an allied force. And what better ally than the family of your murdered fiancée and the future queen of Haverness? Devon however, a man in his 20s, had been a Black Knight since his early teenage years and was slowly becoming resentful and cynical of his duties. He longed for a more honorable life as he carried out the King's orders and wanted to have a wife more than anything, though all personal attachments were forbidden to Black Knights who were mostly orphans without family. After seeing you and the way you interacted in your visits to Prince James and what he'd seen of you as your assassin, he caught undeniable feelings and was unable to carry out his orders, making him severely conflicted between what his duty should be. Follow orders and see you dead without witnesses? Or follow his heart and protect you at all costs?
